Footwear Product Creation
In short
As a sports scientist, you will design and carry out testing protocols (in the field and in the lab) for the Lightning range – our elite range of competition shoes for track and road running (100m to marathon), and tennis. You will serve a vital role in validating/testing product, advising on data driven revisions for future product rounds, and monitoring the latest literature in the fields of running and tennis. You will be integrated into a multi-disciplinary creation team and have the opportunity to work closely with developers, designers, PMs, and engineers.
Your mission
– Conduct athlete-specific performance testing to understand the human x product interaction on an elite level
– Work closely with product management, design and development to provide recommendations on future iterations for products based on experience and testing results
– Design and perform data collections utilizing High-speed video, Force Plate, In-shoe pressure, IMu’s, Mechanical testing equipment and Motion capture
– Perform data analysis utilizing Matlab, Python and Visual 3D/Inspect 3D
– Assist and guide through the product validation process
– Make sure all testing is completed in an accurate, repeatable and timely manner
– Assist in communication with Product Management, design and the development teams
– Facilitate learning by guiding new testing and research
– Manage athlete relationships and closely interact with athletes on the highest level
– Perform statistical analyses when necessary to support findings
– Prepare concept and results-based reports and presentations, communications to technical and non-technical audiences

– Stay connected to relevant current and upcoming research, technologies, methods, and industry trends. Build an effective information network.

Your story
– Master’s degree in Sports Science, Biomechanics, Engineering, Physical activity or Sport product conception.
– 3 years of progressive working experience in the field of Sports science, Biomechanics or Mechanical engineering in the Sporting Goods industry
– Comfortable with independent data interpretation, statistics and the creation of summary results
– Demonstrated creativity professionally and personally
– Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work independently as well as part of a team
– Excellent time management, prioritization skills and ability to balance short-term tasks with long-term goals
– Excellent soft skills and the ability to make people feel welcomed and appreciated with the ability to handle all kinds of characters
– Fluent in English, written and verbal

Our team combines the best experts in fields such as Engineering, Development, Design and Product Management to create something extraordinary for our athletes and our most dedicated consumers.
During the creation process, we co-create very closely with our athletes to get as fast as possible to the finish line and ideally we can make decisions based on scientific data (quantitative and qualitative).
