As Business Development Manager (BDM) EMEA Export you are the primary manager and contact of the distributors in the countries within your scope for the relevant brands and categories.

The BDM understands how the market, region & third-party management process works in every local market for which s/he has responsibility. The BDM drives the achievement of brand/category and channel sales targets. S/he is the owner of the implementation of the ‘’ who, what & how” toolbox in the responsible EMEA export territory.


  • Owns and develops the top and bottom-line business in the countries with scope of responsibility
  • Has strong local market understanding of the countries
  • Conducts in-depth market mapping and planning across all brands and categories
  • Local Implementation with third parties of the brand global mid/long-term visions, strategies & key growth drivers
  • Collaborates with Commercial Manager (CMM) to set local sales targets and ensures profit goals are met
  • Builds strong relationship with Export distributors and their local trade
  • Organizes and manages regular business reviews with distributors alongside all Export stakeholders
  • Identifies and develops new potential business/territories and market opportunities
  • Is proactively fully responsible for the assigned countries alongside CMM
  • Maintains a strong understanding of Amer Sports brands and products
  • Directly manages and leads the distributor and their accounts/federations
  • Assesses potential distributors and their business plans
  • Negotiates and closes distribution agreements with distributors
  • Develops the annual/three years’ business plan for the countries with objectives, goals, strategy, and measures
  • Closely monitors the financial capabilities and cashflow of distributor alongside with Credit Control
  • Supports the demand planning in collaboration with Commercial Managers
  • Implements brand marketing strategies in strong collaboration with Marketing Manager
  • Coordinates cross functionally (Customer Service + CMM + Finance + Credit Control brand stakeholders)

  • 5 years work experience in a sales position in branded consumer goods industryõ
  • Degree level (MA, BA or equivalent professional qualification or experience)
  • Ability to communicate (verbally and written) in good English is a must
  • Experienced in direct key account management
  • Distributor management experience is a plus
  • Strong knowledge and background in Softgoods
  • Understanding of commercial fundamentals related to distributor management and ability to work with remote people – third party and sales-people – is preferred
