POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Sales Manager role is the overall wholesale leader for Wilson Tennis, Squash, Badminton and Padel in the UK and Ireland region. Key responsibilities include achievement of the annual sales and margin objectives, managing and coaching the Wilson sales team, and executing key strategies to drive the success of the brand in the EMEA Racket market.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Primary responsibility for execution of brand’s omni-channel strategy in responsible markets
• Manages and supports (hands-on) the Racket Area Sales and Key Account managers including Irish sales agent with Global strategy and go-to market execution
• Partner with Snr Market Manager, Sales Ops, Demand, DSC on forecasting and inventory planning, especially to ensure the right depth supports the assortment plans.
• Planning and implementing “EOL” and closing out strategies to manage inventory level.
• Support the Sales Team on initiatives to grow Gross Margins to SBP target levels
• Supports UK KAM in achievement of Joint Business Plans with strategic key accounts
• Participate in regular EMEA S&OP calls with HQ / RCM / GM to share updated state of business, forecasting, demand plans.
• Track, Support & Guide sales team to exceed P&L targets and deliver a high EBIT
• Develops a highly skilled sales team through expert coaching on programs, resource distribution, territory management and profit analysis.
• Provide input into and drive execution of commercial strategies to achieve total Wilson company goals
• ”Keep a close ear” on the market, including collection of local market insights, and feed into global commercial planning team and process
• Fosters a competitive, “hungry” sales culture while enforcing the highest ethical standards and customer care
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• 5+ years of experience in Managing big sales teams, with a majority of this experience working in sales to retailers.
• 3 – 5 years of experience in managing the performance and development a team of Senior Managers
• Profound knowledge & understanding of sales processes, mechanisms and tools.
• Professional background in branded consumer goods or sporting/outdoor industry preferred.
• Has successfully managed within an international matrix organisation.
• Bachelor or master’s degree in business relevant field and/or relevant corporate Sales Development Programs or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate (verbally and written) in very good English is a must in additional to fluency in local language (verbally and written).

• Planning & Preparation: Establishes objectives for the region, plans to achieve them, and then implements them through specific targets for each sales representative. Monitors & coaches sales team members to progress towards targets.

• Presenting: Is articulate & effective in describing Amer Sports portfolio offering. Is clear and direct in providing direction, encouragement, or feedback.
• Managing objections: Anticipates sales team reactions to a direction & prepares strong supports and rationale. Coaches sales reps on how to manage customer questions, concerns & demands.
• Customer value orientation: Exemplifies importance of creating value for customers and orients coaching discussions accordingly. Acts as a ‘back-up’ support to sales representative in the case of customer issues.
• Teamwork & people management: Consistently acts to sell through others, not through personal salesmanship. Establishes a regular coaching process as the prime vehicle to achieve sales forecast.
• Business acumen: Appreciates and able to engage the sales team Amer Sports’ strategy and “big picture”.
• Leading & Supervising: Provides team members with a clear direction; Sets appropriate standards of behaviour; Delegates work appropriately and fairly; Motivates and empowers others; Provides staff with development opportunities and coaching; Recruits staff of a high caliber.
• Strong administration, system and IT skills: Salesforce, BI, Microsoft office suite – outlook and excel (advanced level), word – intermediate, SAP, Workday, collaboration centre processes, PRP administration
