Are you CIMA or ACCA qualified with a strong background in Accountancy and a number of years of demonstrable experience in an in-house finance team? Do you have team leadership experience or are you looking to demonstrate your skills in this area?
Due to increased project demands, we are seeking an Assistant Finance Manager to join our finance team based in Winnersh on a 1 year Fixed Term Contract (FTC). You will be part of a small and effective team, focusing on the day-to-day ledger processes and activities to effectively meet the needs of our UK business.
In this role, you’ll be working directly with our Finance Manager who will provide high level guidance and support to ensure you understand the requirements and expectations of the role, while giving you the freedom to use your management skills and expertise to manager your team’s workload and allowing you to support them in meeting key business targets.
Key roles and responsibilities include;
- Business partnering with other managers within the business to ensure a good service is being provided to all teams.
- Check and approve regular payment runs on all AP Ledgers
- Assist with completing and co-ordinating year end audit work with external auditors as well as quarterly reporting to our Japanese head office.
- Ensure full balance sheet reconciliations are completed and any discrepancies are quickly remedied.
- Calculate accruals, prepare & post necessary journals to complete the month-end close within agreed timescales
- Supporting business projects, including implementations of new databases.
- Seek to continuously improve processes within the team and support junior team members to continuously improve their knowledge and understanding.
- Deputising for the Finance Manager as required
- Ensure that all information produced satisfies audit and internal requirements.

About you
- Qualified CIMA / ACCA (Essential)
- Advanced Excel – Pivot Tables and Lookups
- Spreadsheet and computer skills
- Previous exposure to all areas of accounting ideally including Stock and FX
- Management Experience (Preferred but not essential)
