We are looking for an outstanding Senior Product Developer to join our The North Face Team in Stabio, Switzerland.

What will you do?

As a member of the product team, you will be involved in developing product from design concept, through prototyping and into production. Collaborating with the merchandisers, designers and sourcing partners to ensure all concepts are executed to achieve margins targets, quality standards and are fit for purpose.

  • Work in close partnership with the cross functional team to build and commercialize apparel product across categories.

  • Drive newness through the line as well as aligning with the brands product expectations on quality, fit, cost targets and sustainability.

  • Focus on value engineering, and on-time, accurate, quality development, working in conjunction with design and merchandise.

  • Be accountable to meet style FOB and margin targets and seasonal deadlines.

  • Translate designs into full specification packages with accurate technical details, bill of materials, construction details, size specs and grade rules.

  • Proactively offering suggestions for improved construction, aesthetics and manufacturing enhancements, ability to fit and problem solve.

  • Support the Development Manager to plan and track development schedule of all assigned products to ensure timely completion.

  • Ensure that all product is development in line with all relevant testing standards.

  • Develop strong working relationships with the Regional Sourcing teams and work together with vendors to ensure all products meet required standards as well as seasonal deadlines.

  • A proactive, self-starter with strong communication skills.

What you need to succeed?

  • Preferably educated to degree level in apparel fashion, product development or manufacturing.

  • Apparel product development experience of at least 6+ years.

  • Experience in working with and traveling independently to offshore vendors.

  • Experience in product costing and negotiation skills.

  • A strong team player with the ability to collaborate cross functionally.

  • Excellent knowledge in terms of garment fit, construction and quality. Attention to detail.

  • Problem solving and solution focused mindset.

  • A keen interest in innovation and a passion for product.

  • An ability to work under pressure and to navigate change with open mindedness and flexibility.

  • Advanced knowledge of Windows applications and Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including.

  • An excellent understanding of the English language, both written and verbal particularly in terms of apparel development language.

  • Expertise in coaching and mentoring junior members of the team sharing knowledge and expertise.
