Retail Architecture Lead China

At a Glance:

We are looking for a Retail Architect Lead to join us at our APAC HQ office in Shanghai and working closely with our Zurich team materialize On’s future DTC retail environments.

You will combine your architectural design expertise with retail experience to develop and oversee implementation of On stores and Shop-in-Shops internationally, following the brand’s design and technical guidelines within each project’s given space, specific requirements and schedule.

Addressing future trends in design, technology, human behavior and the evolution of various On’s retail concepts as well as next-generation environment.

You will be part of our small but dynamic Retail Expansion team responsible for multiple cross-functional projects from market analysis and retail strategy to concepts and final delivery, construction, fit-out ranging from small Shop-in-Shops to large flagships.

Working with key stakeholders within Retail, Trade and Visual Merchandising towards creating an identical consumer experience across all retail touchpoints. 

Your Mission:

• Lead a team of creative thinkers and doers to build iconic retail experiences in line with On’s values and mission of igniting the human spirit through movement.
• Lead and direct the design and execution of all China store designs (from flagship to mall-footprints to shop-in-shops) in close collaboration with the construction, visual merchandising and retail operation teams. 
• Develop and maintain the On retail playbook for global rollouts.
• Deeply understand stakeholder requests and complex business challenges and develop creative strategies to solve problems
• Manage project forecasts, design schedules and team capacity with project managers to ensure timely delivery of projects

Your Story:

• Degree and 8+ years in architectural or design field, with at least 5 in retail industry
• Inspiring leader with minimum 3 years managing & fostering a creative culture
• Organizational wizard with successful track record within an entrepreneurial & high-growth environment managing tight deadlines and multiple projects
• Exceptional creative vision in service of business objectives and with an intimate understanding of On’s community. 
• Passionate about retail design
