As Demand & Supply Planner you will be part of the Eastpak Operations team, responsible for ensuring the right inventory in the right place at the right time. Our team facilitate the global movement of Eastpak products from the sourcing location to wholesale, distributors and end customers. The Demand & Supply Planning Coordinator role is highly visible within the organization and requires key interaction and organizational skills. You will help to build the demand forecast which needs to be validated against financial plans to identify gaps, risks and opportunities. You will support the seasonal process by providing insights on past and future demand trends and by doing the set-up and maintenance of systems and parameters. You will balance supply and demand in such a way that maximizes product availability while keeping inventory levels under control. Calculate, based on the seasonal demand plan and forecast, the purchase requirements and send them to our sourcing teams in Asia.

How You Will Make a Difference

Demand Planning (Eastpak, JanSport, SMU projects)

  • Understanding the wholesale business in terms of revenue levels, growth plans and product mix (close communication with Sales, Finance and Merchandising will be crucial)

  • Generating, distributing, collecting and validating forecast files from Sales according to pre-defined schedule

  • Measuring forecast accuracy and set up an action plan to improve forecast accuracy

  • Assisting the Demand and S&Op Manager in preparation of periodic demand review meetings

  • Monitoring SKU performance and prepare recommendations on SKU efficiency

  • Developing and maintaining a close relationship with Merchandising, Supply Planning, Finance, Sales and Customer Service. Initiate cross-functional process improvement where needed

  • Maintaining master planning calendar with key dates and milestones for each season

  • Maintaining accurate data in the seasonal line lists for those inputs where Demand Planning is responsible

  • Creating reports (Cognos 11) and tools in support of ad-hoc analysis and process improvement.

Supply Planning (SMU projects & JanSport only)

  • Creating a buy plan for vendors based on capacity constraints, production lead time, minimums within purchasing strategy and defined level of service

  • Aligning with your manager and other stakeholders within Eastpak on the final quantities to buy and execute PO placement within buy plan terms and deadlines

  • Working with demand planning and sales to drive sale orders entry within buy plan, re-plan production based on forecast fluctuations

  • Assuring system PO completion with confirmed delivery dates, correct prices, up-charges, factory details, port of departure, country of origin within established deadlines and assure PO acknowledgment by vendors and VF Asia Sourcing

  • Production follow up: on a weekly basis create and run reports on open POs, check with VF Asia sourcing on potential risks of delay and evaluate possible solutions, take responsibility to communicate risks and opportunities to leadership, execute actions agreed with management; be responsible to achieve assigned KPI related to production on time

Skills for Success

  • 2-5 years experience in Planning or related fields (E.g., operations, supply chain)

  • University Bachelor or master’s degree in Economics or Business Engineering or equivalent in experience

  • Expert in Excel (Power Pivot/Query is a plus),

  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written

  • Numbers make you happy

  • Excellent planning, organizational and analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail

  • Experience with SAP, Cognos 11 is a plus

  • Stress resistant and able to deal with deadlines

  • Team player and also able to work independently

  • Good interpersonal skills to build collaborative relationships
