Your role:

We are in business to save our home planet. You’ll be helping us achieve this by by being responsible for participating at an intermediate level in all phases of the development and maintenance of our data warehouse architecture and related tools. You’ll be in charge of keeping our systems running smooth and ensuring a scalable, stable and reliable IT environment.

The Data Engineer also supports in issue resolution that arise across the organization, with both business and technical IT knowledge and has the ability to manage and communicate to shareholders in different levels of the organization.

Main tasks: 

• Advise the organization on best practices in Business Intelligence and Data Analytics and provide solicited and unsolicited advices to data and reporting community.

• Review and support with systems and users’ documentations while supporting with internal training, when applicable.

• Participate in design and architecture sessions with business and system analysts, reviewing documented business processes and gathering and documenting system requirements.

• Build and configure data sets by normalizing transactional data into wide datasets for business reporting.

• Participate in Import and Export Master/Transactional Data activities.

• Perform and support structured end-to-end testing cycle in case of upgrades, implementations or other changes.

• Perform incidents analysis in data flow and diagnose issues and propose fixes.

• Build new dashboards and reports to provide insights to the organization on model performance and impact, leveraging Power BI and Tableau.

• Communicate and transfer knowledge to the relevant business and system analysts and other key users.

• Work with the overall IT team and external developers to plan and execute various projects as needed.


What we’re looking for:

• A love of the outdoors

• A passion for saving our home planet and making a positive impact through your work

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field and 3-4 years of working experience in SQL and Reporting

• Understanding of data warehousing techniques and concepts

• Good level of knowledge of Microsoft SQL services and technologies (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS and SQL Server 2012+)

• Proficient with developing, deploying and customizing data pipelines

• Demonstrated proficiency with; Microsoft .NET 3.5+ development, C# or Python

• Proficient with ANSI SQL Language, Snowflake, MSSQL 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

• Strong understanding of and ability to configure security groups, roles and teams

Able to work independently and to collaborate across the organization

It’s a plus if you also have the following:

• Exposed to DevOps processes and DBT (Data build tool) 


Other important details:

• This is a full time position, based in Amsterdam. 

• We have a hybrid work model, working from home for maximum 3 days per week.
