POSITION TITLE: Manager Outbound Transportation – EMEA (m/f/d)

LOCATION: Munich or Überherrn, Germany

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Based on our Distribution and Transportation strategy and in alignment with the Director Global Outbound Transportation as well as our brands, you will manage our carriers’ network in Europe. You will control and improve the outbound freight partnerships to keep high quality standards in the distribution of Amer Sports products to our customers through all channels. You will be the regional support for stakeholders internally and externally to keep interests aligned and support the execution of freight services in Europe.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with our distribution centers and omni-channel sales teams
  • Monitor and improve the service agreements and lead-times
  • As owner of transportation score card, conduct regular reviews of transportation costs, and suggest improvements
  • Manage and analyse the customer experience and make proposals to meet the growing expectations of our customers
  • Manage the business relationship with freight forwarders in Parcel, Groupage, LTL and FTL networks
  • Lead and monitor projects related to transportation in Europe
  • Support the development of a transportation knowledge database of key players, costs and developments in order to guide internal services towards new solutions, concepts, processes and technologies
  • Support the selection of logistics providers in terms of reliability, quality, costs and services
  • Introduce service quality criteria defined by the management and audit them based on SLA’s (Service Level Agreements)
  • Support continuous improvement programs internally and with suppliers

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

  • Good knowledge of Transport / Logistics / Supply Chain Management and Distribution Chain
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office, SAP (logistics module) is a plus
  • Knowledge in Controlling / KPI’s
  • Knowledge of incoterms and customs processes
  • Planning & Transformation Management
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Able to establish strong positive relationships across the Organization at all levels
  • Able to develop, understand and articulate strategic ‘big picture’ issues
  • Ability to organize and anticipate
  • Capacity to work in a multicultural environment
  • Ability to travel (approx. 20% of the time)

YOUR PROFILE :

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in transport / logistics / supply chain or in business administration
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in logistics / transport
  • Experience in a transportation company is mandatory, preferably in Groupage, LTL or Parcel
  • Experience in warehousing is a plus
  • Fluent in German and English
