At a Glance:

As an Apparel Material Specialist in the innovation team, you will contribute to our game-changing material innovations by applying/feeding Dyeing and Finishing expertise into strategic innovation programs. You will get the chance to carry out integral research and development which fuels material developments, ultimately driving revolutionary innovations to On products. You will join a dynamic and talented team, and report into the Apparel Materials Innovation Lead.

Your Team:

We’re responsible for creating innovative products for On. We have a lot of responsibility to try and meet the needs and demands of runners. So we research, design, develop and test lots of ideas scientifically. Only products that pass our rigorous tests ever go to market.

Your Mission:

  • Drive forward the Dyeing and Finishing efforts in our Apparel material innovations based on our global innovation strategy and inline with On sustainability roadmaps.
  • Utilise On’s technologies and identify opportunities for gains in performance, sustainability and manufacturing efficiency through forward thinking in the Dyeing/Finishing areas.
  • Exhaustively research and analyse new technologies and feedback to the wider group to strategise and problem solve.
  • Assist with strong relationships built with material suppliers and chemical vendors through clear communication and collaboration
  • Liaise with all working level Innovation Design, Material specialists, Product Management, and Sustainability teams.

Your Story:

  • Being excited to be part of the team that is putting the fun into the run for millions of people
  • BSc/MSc in textile/material engineering/chemistry or equivalent. 
  • At least 2 years’ experience in materials industry with strong focus on Dyeing/Finishing
  • Experience with material/textile manufacturing (knitting technologies, weaving etc)
  • Good knowledge with different engineering disciplines (mechanical testing, manufacturing technologies and sourcing)
  • Strong eye for sustainability, material design and aesthetics as well as global movements in materials.
  • Proficient with MS Office, Adobe Suite as a plus
  • Fluent in English.
