VANS is looking for an exceptional Supply Planner (temporary contract) to join our Planning team based in Stabio, Switzerland.

The role:

  • Analyse and plan buys against production requirements (factory capacity, lead times and minimums) in order to achieve maximum sales with minimal inventory exposure.

  • Calculate and place buys at SKU level to Sourcing offices in accordance with global deadlines. Produce Seasonal Buy plan against Sales forecast and Production requirements.

  • Coordinate shared information with other functions.

  • Support creation of department analysis and reports.

  • Ensure timely and accurate cross functional communication with all counterparts.

How You Will Make a Difference

You will achieve this by:

A – Supply/Buy Planning

  • Translate Forecast done by Demand Planning team into ‘Buy plans’, shared with Sourcing teams and global planning teams prior to and during the buy season in order to define vendor allocation and drive accurate and effective capacity planning.

  • Perform Supply/Demand match at Vendor/month level in order to identify bottlenecks and mitigation options

  • Buy Planning: define buys at SKU level, based on current inventory levels, open purchase orders, production constraints (i.e. MOQ, lead times), potential capacity constraints and other parameters (i.e. safety stock, quick turn replenishments)

  • Identify styles under production minimums (potential drops) and take appropriate actions; report to Sales Team sold out products during the Sales campaign

  • Verify Sales Orders have been booked according to correct delivery window and required corrections are done by CS where necessary

  • Ensure timely communication on all topics regarding Planning/Buy process and style set up with all relevant counterparts (Merchandising, Customer Service, Pricing and Sales)

  • Ensure Planning KPI’s are met: Order Coverage, Shortages, Excess by category and Surcharges

  • Drive a continuous improvement approach within the function and brand

B – On time deliveries

  • Collaborate with Operations team and Sourcing team on ‘vendor confirmation’ process to ensure that confirmed PO’s (quantities/dates) are aligned to Planning requests

  • Weekly tracking of On-time Order Coverage and Shortages: analyse delays, root causes and work with Operations team to identify expedite options within Air/Train budget

C – Reporting and other duties

  • Responsible to track Buy Plan accuracy for assigned Brand/category; perform seasonal root cause analysis to identify learnings and apply to future seasons

  • Responsible for KPI tracking and analysis in support of all needed corrective actions.

  • Responsible to track and analyse Duty free/advantage volumes

  • Analyse and follow-up surcharge requests and monitor/control final surcharge situation

  • Ensure historical data availability

D – Master Data

  • Manage / coordinate styles set up on specific parameters

  • Execute Inventory Class updates (product life cycle) based on VF and Brand rules (multiple times per year)

  • Contribute to creation of seasonal buy calendar and other dates relevant for Planning

  • Ensure Line Plans updates are correctly reflected in SAP and Planning tool.

Skills for Success:

  • Education: Qualified degree (ideally in Economics)

  • Experience: Min 5 years’ experience in Planning or Operations

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, above all Excel

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Able to work in team environment as well as independently

  • Effective communication skills

  • Initiative and priority setting

  • SAP working experience is a plus

  • Knowledge of Cognos Reporting Tool is a plus

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
