This is your opportunity to become a core part of On’s Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) team and commence the journey to bring On’s Zurich Flagship Store alive. This store is our first store in Switzerland and the first ever Flagship store for On in Europe!  

As one of the first hires of the Zurich store team, On will rely on you to deliver exceptional customer service to each and every customer while embodying On’s core values and passion for movement. Our Flagship Store is the hallmark of the On brand and we are always finding unique ways to deliver a premium product and innovative customer experience with cutting-edge technology. 

We are looking for Lead Store Advisors with a focus on BoH (Back of House) and VM (Visual Merchandising).

Your Team:

As you might expect from a young consumer brand, the DTC (Direct-to-Consumer) team at On is a fast-paced place to be.  Together with your store team and leadership as well as the global DTC Retail team, you will help to revolutionize conventional retail business and deliver the WOW to our customers on a daily basis.  

Your Mission:

General:

  • Continuously embody and communicate On’s values and brand philosophy to internal and external customers
  • Provide exceptional customer service including greeting customers as they walk in, responding to customer inquiries and creating solutions for customers by listening to their needs and improving engagement with our product
  • Supervise and mentor a team of up to 6 Store Advisors by demonstrating an exceptional customer focused approach within daily work
  • Manage, implement and monitor daily zoning schedules to enable optimal customer flows
  • Open and close store following protocol
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of product technical information and follow On’s global activities and projects (e.g. sustainability efforts, Athlete stories)
  • Provide input and ideas on merchandising and engaging events / community activities for the store
  • Contribute feedback to store leadership to continuously improve store processes and customer service level 
  • Help maintain the visual standards in the store to deliver a premium experience to our customers 
  • Assist with inventory management, placing new product orders and fill-in orders
  • Other duties as needed

BoH (Back of House):

  • Continuously embody and communicate On’s values and brand philosophy 
  • Ensure physical inventory is synced with digital inventory system (Enterprise Resource Planning tool) to ensure accurate management of frequent product replenishment, sales tracking and loss prevention program (inventory shrink)
  • Ensure well-functioning stock room to allow fast scouting of products for customer service on shop floor
  • Manages sellable and non-sellable merchandise (e.g. Try On shoes) inventory levels 
  • Be main contact person for store leadership and IT / Facility Management functions for operational questions around product flows and healthiness of store systems 
  • Ensure wider store team is trained on BoH processes and standard procedures 
  • Support smaller maintenance and facility management work to keep store to premium standards and ensure operational functionality 
  • Act as system & IT expert to provide first level troubleshooting for store team (e.g. POS), help testing of IT Systems and training store team in use of technology applied in store 
  • Other duties as needed

VM (Visual Merchandising):

  • Continuously embody and communicate On’s values and brand philosophy to internal and external customers
  • Work closely with our global Visual Merchandising team to execute visual guidelines for product presentation and campaign presentation in our store
  • Ensure operational delivery of visual merchandising standards in daily store business and train a team of Store Advisors by demonstrating visual merchandising standards and exceptional customer focused approach
  • Provide on the ground input and ideas on visual merchandising to global Visual Merchandising Lead and Sales Planner for continuous improvement and innovation 
  • Support and mentor our store advisor team by providing exceptional customer service including greeting customers as they walk in, responding to customer inquiries and creating solutions for customers by listening to their needs and improving engagement with our products in daily store operations 
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of product technical information and follow On’s global activities and projects (e.g. sustainability efforts, Athlete stories)
  • Contribute feedback to store leadership to continuously improve store processes and customer service level 
  • Other duties as needed 

Your Story:

  • High School Diploma; Bachelor’s Degree is a strong plus.
  • 3+ year of experience within a retail work environment; +1 year in supervisory role
  • A background in the Running, Fashion or Sports Industry is preferred but not a must
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to take initiative, learn quickly, and work both independently and as part of a team
  • Eye for maintaining outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards
  • Ability to multi-task, while being attentive to customers and remaining flexible to the needs of the business
  • Ability to read, write and speak English. German skills on minimum B1/B2 level are required 

For BoH:

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics and / or other ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning system) is appreciated 
  • Ability to maintain outstanding stock room conditions and inventory management standards

 

Physical demands: This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, climbing stairs, and standing for consecutive hours. May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
