Set the direction for adidas Footwear innovations in alignment with the SVP Innovation and the Brand SLT.

Own the delivery of all Footwear innovation platforms and concepts linked to the focus areas defined by the ‘Own The Game’ strategy. Ensure concepts focus on (Sport) credibility, sustainability and inclusivity.

Responsible for framing, staffing, delivering and monitoring the defined innovation concepts incl. the orchestration of the Horizonal CoE resources within the innovation team and adjacent functions like GOPS.


  • Define and develop benefit-centric and credible innovative FTW platforms and concepts that build global leadership as well as maximize commercial and consumer impact through landing in brand franchises and brand drivers
  • Own concept management (incl. staffing) across discovery and validation zone of the innovation process incl. the assigned innovation readiness levels and the requirements for each decision gate
  • Drive alignment with BU GMs to ensure BU sponsorships is in place for each concept and lead handover to BU which is executed through respective FTW concept leads. Ensure all required deliverables are met prior to handover to the BU
  • Align FTW innovation portfolio with VP innovation portfolio and ensure delivery as per the agreed concept roadmaps and the integration into the annual strategy process
  • Provide functional leadership to FTW concept leads and wider FTW concept team
  • Champion consumer focus and benefit driven thinking across the entire FTW concept team to ensure maximum impact within the market

  • University degree (Master’s or MBA preferred)
  • 10+ years progressive work experience in the Sporting goods  industry, specializing in Product and/or Innovation, Sourcing and/or Materials or directly related field with appropriate management experience,
  • 10 years proven track record in creating innovative consumer experiences and product solutions
  • 8 years team lead experience and ability to effectively building and leading diverse teams
