Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization

This role is responsible for maximizing the sales, profitability, and brand equity of the European Retail Factory Outlet organization by executing the day-to-day tasks of the department related to accurate management of the flow of inventories to store, particularly related to order management. A key focus of this role is managing store ranges and stock cover. Assume responsibility for brand/divisions/categories for all stores.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide feedback on implementation of key strategic priorities
  • Execute the defined key merchandising principles in day-to-day business and regularly provide feedback on the same
  • Support the FO Merchandiser and FO Merchandising Manager in pre-season product planning activities and product procurement decisions based on knowledge of stores
  • Proactively execute the flow of aging inventories into stores
  • Provide input to Senior Manager FO Merchandising and Manager FO Merchandising on range requirements for stores to enable accurate range allocations
  • Action flow of inventories for promotional activities
  • Action flow of inventories for sales periods
  • Execute action steps deriving from market and competitor knowledge – share best practices. Provide x functional feedback on learnings
  • Issue key merchandising reports as assigned and engage in in-depth analysis, driving quick action steps on a weekly basis. Share best practices
  • Work closely with Senior Manager FO Merchandising and Manager FO Merchandising on key trading principles and put these into practice in day-to-day execution of the role
  • Action the optimal flow of merchandise within the framework provided. Execute allocation and replenishment tasks incl. order book entry to ensure that stores have optimum inventory levels in the right product mix (bestseller/clearance requirements) for the next selling periods based on in-depth analysis and store/consumer base knowledge and in line with weeks cover targets. Monitor the Dynamic Buffer Management (DBM) system output against targets and change where required
  • Ensure on-time order entry for all products to stores
  • Ensure collaborative engagement with Clusters and Stores within team
  • Execute order management to ensure on-time and accurate delivery of all products related to the Retail Factory Outlet Merchandising Calendar
  • Execute order management based on VM guidelines
  • Contribute to the enhancement of all merchandising systems and tools to suit world-class merchandising practice
  • Contribute to the development of a merchandising training program. Participate in training
  • Store visits as needed and advised by the business to enhance market knowledge and awareness of competitor activities (expected ratio office/travel is 90%/10%)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office
  • Fluent in English
  • Additional language is an advantage
  • Good knowledge of retail management systems. Good knowledge of Micro Strategy

  • Good organizational skills and process management skills
  • Attention to detail as error in analysis will have crucial impact on business
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment and under pressure

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications

  • University degree and/or commercial training in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Marketing or Sales is preferred
  • 1-2 years administrative experience, ideally in a Retail environment
